The largest online population live in China

China Online Users World largest population

Despite the famous “Chinese firewall” (the ban that Chinese government applied over the Internet), China has come online extremely quickly last years. Facebook, Twitter and the majority of western online communities are blocked but they have created their own social media instead. Nowadays, one of five internet users is chinese, so we can imagine the impact the internet has made in the largest population worldwide.

Chinese people use Internet the same time as their american counterparts,  but their habits differ. One of the big differences is that Chinese users really enjoy online shopping, and according to some analysts, the ‘Big Dragon’ may become the largest ecommerce market in three years. And they are more used to visiting websites instead of using apps, as it happens in America when the World Wide Web was born.

Do you want to know more about it? Statista have compiled interesting data and make a quite interesting infographic on chinese online population, a group which is growing up quickly despite uncountable restrictions around the Internet in their country. Maybe, if you want to do online business, it’s time to make a chinese version of your website. 再见!

P.D. By the way,  I did not post for a couple of weeks because of my job duties. I will try to do my best to keep this blog updated. Thanks!
